The Indiana University Brass Choir, under the director of Professor Edmund Cord, will perform in a program of music by composer and trumpeter Anthony Plog. Also featured as soloist is John Rommel, a member of the trumpet faculty at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.Music for the concert begins with the Festival Fanfare of William Mac Davis, followed by a wonderful transcription of the Bach Prelude and Fugue in C Minor. The program continues with two pieces by Nicolas Flagello, and the 1st Concerto for Trumpet by Anthony Plog. The concert continues with another Plog composition, his Scherzo, written in 1994 for the Summit Brass ensemble. In a first performance for the IU Brass Choir, the ensemble next performs a Ralph Sauer transcription of the Uranus movement from The Planets by Gustav Holst. The program concludes with Fantasia for Brass Choir and Timpani by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Robert Ward. The concert begins at 6:00pm in Auer Hall on the Indiana University campus, Bloomington, IN (USA).
